Last week, Halton Police arrested 4 for child porn. 2 from Burlington, 1 from Oakville and 1 Halton Hills. There were 350+ arrests in 2010 in Canada. The Halton spokesperson showed all the computers in their region that were accessing inappropriate sites and pictures during their address there were 22.

My first reaction is that it should be a slow and agonizing execution.

It does demonstrate one of the negative aspects of the internet. Where once these people would have been more isolated, now they are able to locate like minded criminals and reinforce each others predatory and dangerous predispositions.

Atleast the cyber crimes guys can probably scoop up a bunch of these wackos all at once because they expose themselves when connecting. It does make me think that individual stalkers are much harder top find these days since they no longer hang around parks and play grounds but probably stalk their vicitms on the internet.

I thought this was a fairly limited problem until reports like this and the 20/20 sting shows drag so many of these scumbags out of the dark places they hide.

I agree with Maurice, once they have traveled this path, Im not sure how much rehabilitation can be done. No room for bleeding hearts here IMO. Long sentences are essential.

I would even take it one step further... In those cases (and as Bosco pointed out there are many), that the "legal system" (I can't in good conscience call what we have a justice system since "justice" is rarely served), unleashes these predators back on society's most innocent and weakest members, those responsible for letting the predators out (e.g. parole board members, lawyers etc) should also be punished as accessories to the crimes committed by the re-offender! :grrrrrr:

Unfortunately or system doesn't work as such. They will each have their own cell that costs us $50,000 a year (for each) to feed them and protect them.
