CARMEL, Ind. - The owner of two massage parlors, Lu Wang, and five others have been arrested in prostitution stings in Carmel and Zionsville.
Police raided Dove Spa at 715 S. Rangeline Road in Carmel and Beijing Spa at 12121 N. Michigan Road in Zionsville after an undercover investigation into reports of sexual activity that began in June last year.
Wang, 50, of Fishers, was arrested on three counts, including promoting prostitution.
Hui Xiao, 40; Min Yu, 43, of Fishers; Toby Hou, 23, of Carmel; Jinna Luan, 52, of Carmel; and Aiguin Yu, 40, Zionsville were also arrested on prostitution-related charges.
Police were also searching for Yajie Liu, 55, in connection with the sting.
Investigators seized $210,000 in cash, along with two vehicles.
RTV6 went to Wang's home in Fishers, but no one answered the door. A neighbor said Wang kept to himself.
"We never really met him he was always out late, doing something with the tree out there, and he just never really came down to say 'hi,' so we never really knew him," said neighbor Bo Buis.
A woman who works near one of the massage parlors said she had heard rumors of prostitution at the business.
"I know a lady, her husband had went and got a massage, and after that, they have a shower in there that they like to shower their customers afterwards, and then they would offer services in the shower," the woman said. "So that's why we all pretty much suspected that there was prostitution going on."
"I am very happy," said Tara Thomas, who works in a hair salon right next to Dove Spa. "It kind of tainted our strip mall here."
The mug shots of those arrested were not yet available from the Hamilton County Jail on Wednesday.
