A charity event

I'm being thrown in "jail" to help raise money for the local muscular dystrophy association. Basically, I have a few weeks to raise X amount of dollars for my bail. I've got a donation jar set up at my office, but I wanted to see what other creative ideas you fine folks here might have?
I thought it would be cool to do some kind of massage-a-thon or something to raise money. Maybe bring in several other therapists and we can all work to raise money for this charity. I don't know, I'm throwing around ideas.

Maybe send out a post card to all of your clients. It's a good opportunity to get your face in front of them again... literally.

You could even ask your local police dept. if you could have a friend take a pic of you for the cards.... sort of like this guy that I found on the net... don't know who he is... hope he doesn't get mad we posted his picture here.... *hehe*

One of my clients has a child with muscular dystrophy, so I'm actually happy to help out.

Do you have an e-mail newsletter for your clients? I like the jail picture idea........post it in your office and perhaps in other establishments around town where you do business.....both personally and professionally.

I think a massage-a-thon is a good idea. Some folks in my area hold an open house each year offering chair massage for donation. I've participated with another therapist in providing one hour massages at a discounted rate, with all proceeds going to the charity. Of course, in order to make a good size donation, you would need several volunteer therapists, as well as a few rooms.

Maybe you can promote Valentine gift certificate sales by saying that $x from each gc will go to this event.

If your website directs a lot of traffic, you could post something like '$5.00' from every appointment donated to MDA'... or something like that.

Maybe even get some of the local MDA chapters to link to your site?
