Acrylic nail service and massage

My son will be completing Massage School in June and will join me here. He will have his own business name, specializing in Sports Massage. My question is... I am at a very busy tanning/fitness/hair salon and plan to move into the adjoining suite. Our rent will double plus utilities. I can cover his part of the rent/utilities until he builds, but was wondering if it would be feasible to offer space in the back room for a nail tech to offer acrylic nails service. Ppl inquire about that very often, but have to drive an hour to have their nails done unless they get a regular manicure. My BIL can put a cpl vents in for me to ventilate it so the air will flow outside. Do you think that would be sufficient to keep the strong smell from the other areas? And should I charge straight rent or a certain perceneforum.xxxe?

The owner here offers pedicures so I am trying to think of something I can do for a steady income that compliments massage but won't take any business from him. We'll still be working together side by side so we can offer varied services in one location. ~Sandra

Don't mix acrylic nails and massage in a small space. Aside from the ventilation problem, it may easily result in noise and chemical sensitivity issues. A few vents won't be enough to prevent odor problems, and you would need significantly more sound insulation to dampen noise.

I agree with Jason, there is no getting away from those hella strong chemicals, and yes - noise too, chatty chatty chatty.

I think another renter would be a better idea.

The space is large...what if I got someone to do yoga or pilates classes? Would that be too noisy?

I work in a Salon and fitness center and the noises are muffled but still filter through... hasn't bothered any of my clients as of yet. They usually don't even hear it as I'm the one who jumps when someone drops a weight then they get a chuckle out of it.

you could offer a different type of nail service like Gels, they have almost no smell and if the salon next door doesn't offer it, you would def get clientel from there.
