I used to work with an acupuncturist who had gone to massage school first, then acupuncture school later on. Best 90 minute combination acu-massage treatments! While the needles were in one region of the body another region was massaged. I loved it, it really was the only time I enjoyed acupuncture. Can't stand being left alone in the room. :

Acupuncture definitely isn't my cup of tea. I tried it once and I'm not too keen on trying it again. Ironically, I just came across this article concerning acupuncture. Funny how browsing wikipedia can lead you from one thing to another.

I never would have thought of this. We only have one acupuncturist in our little town and she does have a massage license, but the way she has her clinic set up makes it impossible to do both in one treatment. Sounds like it would be nice though, and massage would probably even help amplify the effect of the acupuncture.

I don't mind being left alone as long as I'm comfortable; I just take a nap!

I absolutely love acupuncture. And, when you meet a good one, they can work with complicated issues getting results at unexpected turns.

I used to rent space to an acupuncturist in 1997. It was a win-win. I hope this is a win-win situation for you (peacenut) and your clients as well.

Acupuncture

Having her or even another MT wasnt part of my original plan. The only way it would work is if she would share my large treatment room. The plan was to put equipment in the other two rooms. The equipment will provide much more income than the money I would take in from the accupuncturist. Plus, my lease forbids independent contractors, so I would have to bring her in as an employee. There is a lot to mull over. She currently sees about 8 clients per week, and she would like to be busier. Joining me would probably benefit both of us though.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of my favorite things in this life... along with chinese herbs. I'm always a bit sad when I hear someone is not totally in love with it and getting the benefits of it.

I understand that acu and CST work well together... an ayurvedic doctor/acupuncturist/yoga teacher/massage therapist once told me that CST is the only kind of bodywork he's aware of that moves the Blood layer (a TCM concept I'm not entirely clear on), and that it often does so better than needling.
