advise please

i have a client who would like to book 3 back massages and reflexology and indian head massage treatments all in the same week, i am not sure about doing all these treatments and was wondering how i should advise her to maybe spread these treatments out, when she wants them all in the same week??
any advise would be great

I would be inclined to suggest you meet for a consultation to discuss which therapy would be most appropriate for her, but to make sure she is aware that only one treatment would be given after the consultation and then after discussion, ie knowing her a bit better and what her problems are you can discuss a plan of action. To have all these in one week may be counter productive, not to say expensive and may not be in her best interests.

Are they after a quick fix. It is so difficult to comment without knowing the circumstances but I would not personally perform all in one week. It would be good to try one track at a time, or how will you know what has helped and what did not, and will she not be totally detoxified after all these treatments.

Never had someone ask for so much, chat to her more on her first meeting, find out more and advise from there, good luck!

I don't really see why you would not be comfortable doing these treatments, if the person went to a heath spa then they would receive a lot more treatments in a shorter space of time?

We do one or two day healing retreats, where the person will receive two days of whatever they need to kick start them back into a healthy state of being.

I agree with Totally Jane, a thorough consultation will help you to discover what she needs the treatments for. I was always taught that you deliver one therapy at a time and certainly not a combination of three in a week, however lucrative it might be! My reflexology tutor would be having an absolute fit if she read this!!

Yes i agree too, i'd be inclined to ask first why they wanted all the treatments in the one week? you can then explain about the effects of such treatments etc. good luck x

I would be quite happy to start my day every day with a nice back massage and end it with an Indian Head Massage. I agree with Paul, folk get so much more at a Spa in one day, just do your consultation as normal and take it from there.

your reluctance may be well founded, but another possibility is that you are subsconsciously uneasy about taking all that money from her in one week - money issues are really common for many therapists.

I would happily provide all those treatments to a client in one week. I had a client a while back asking for 4 treatments on the same day. I couldn't fit all of them in on one day so did two on one day and two the week after but if I could have fit them all in on the same day I would have - they would probably feel quite spaced out afterwards and I'd recommend they took it very easy after along with the usual aftercare advice.

When I was training for holistic therapies at college I practically had a massage of some kind everyday and it didn't do me any harm.

i was worried about doing all these treatments as it seems to much for the body and was worried about the healing crisis.
i was tought not to do that number os sessions in one week due to making the client ill.
