Appointment Alerts?

So Spaboom joined forces with NotifyAll awhile back, and I signed up for it. However, nobody was really interested in it and rather than paying almost $20 a month for nothing, I cancelled my subscription.

I'd been toying around with how to let people know of last minute cancellations and openings, especially since my days are filling up very fast lately.

Tonight, I sent my first Appointment Alert email campaign, because someone cancelled their 11 a.m. appointment for tomorrow. I don't know how well it will be received, so I have added an Opt-in feature specifically for appointment alerts... I don't want to send people an email every week (or everyday, for that matter), if they don't want to receive it!

Have any of you ever sent out daily notices for openings?

edited to add that I think NotifyAll is a great product, but I couldn't see spending additional $$ for something that wasn't being used.

update: it booked within 10 minutes of sending the email, and so far one person has emailed asking for it. Not bad!

I like the idea.

I am not a big e-mailer, but I still like the idea. I bet it will help someones practice out there (congrats on the booking! ).
