Hello,
Our pediatrician is part of a large practice, so I have seen different doctors there who've had slightly different recommendations about this. Our main doctor recommended starting Stage 1 fruits and veggies at 4-5 months, and told us we could start Stage 2 at 6-7 months. He said any of the foods within it were fine. So, once we moved onto Stage 2 at close to 7 months, I started buying her some of the Earth's Best "country dinners." These are mixtures of veggies and meats, like chicken/sweet potato and beef/corn/carrots. My daughter seems to really enjoy these and they look so much better to me than the ones that are pure meat (yuck.) I will say that I went to a different pediatrician in the practice a few weeks ago and he told me an entirely different philosophy. He recommended starting with veggies, moving onto fruits, and then adding in meats at 8-9 months. We already started them on the advice of the other pediatrician and she's had no problems, so we're continuing to use them in moderation.
