The book is the Aromatherapy Bible by Gill Farrer Halls. It contains various recipes for creams and lotions, some are quite complex starting from the very basics of melting wax etc. I like this one because it is so simple, (Hope I am allowed to replicate it here, mods)
Rich moisturiser for normal skin
5 fl oz moisturizing base cream (I used Boots essentials unfragranced cream which was on a 'bogof' and is v cheap)
A large glass jar
A chopstick
5ml each of rose water and avocado oil (I used Boots rose water and glycerin and substituted peach kernel for avocado oil as I prefer the texture)
4 drops each of roman chamomile, rose absolute, neroli and lavender
3 drops each of palmarosa and rosewood
Measure the base cream into the glass jar
Using the chopstick, stir in the rose water and avocado oil.
Add the german chamomile, rose absolute, neroli and lavender, and then the palmarosa and rosewood. Stir well to incorporate them thoroughly into the moisturiser.
This smells lovely and feels great on the skin, I am using it every night
