WASHINGTON, N.C. (WITN) - Beaufort County Community College announced a new therapeutic massage program.
The college says the new Therapeutic Massage diploma program will be offered in Fall 2025.
According to the college, students will gain hands-on experience in therapeutic techniques, anatomy, physiology, and client care through a 39-credit-hour, one-year course of study.
Graduates will also be eligible to take the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam.
“This program will help our students work locally in a healthcare career that may align better with their goals than our current offerings,” said Dr. Lisa Hill, vice president of academic affairs. “It offers a meaningful career path for students while addressing the wellness needs of our aging population.”
In addition to launching the massage therapy program, the college says it will return its Esthetics Technology certificate, only 16 credit hours, to the curriculum division under the Cosmetology program.
Both programs are currently pending review by the State Board of Community Colleges.
