betta breeding? at last i introduce female and male together?

male behave violent, females fins little bit gone then i took female. my water temp was 80 d and water level 5 inch's, 10 gallon tank every thing was perfect only thing is male was not blowing bubble nest. both conditioned well for 1 1/2 week. I'm using live plants, air pump was switched off.

i bred bettas a few times with a bit of success , one question i have is did you add something for the male to blow his nest under? try cutting a styrofoam cup in half the long ways and place it in the tank this gives the male a secure hiding spot to blow his bubbles i usually tape the cup to the side of the tank as i didnt want it floating about the tank then i use a thai method of breeding i add both the male and female together the female gets a little beat up but it happens and usually within 2 days they spawn and when they are finished i remove the female and let the male do his job and within a few days you will see babies
