Bike Trip..A couple of weeks ago.

As many of you know, I got the ER6 with the sole intention of visiting new places here in PI.
Anyways a coupla weeks ago, I headed north (destinations unknown) with my Reviewiend Reviewom Manila, for a bit of a mystery ride....I told her we'd be gone for 7-14days.

First overnight stop was Hundred Islands....approx 195km's Reviewom Barrio Barretto.
Should also note, the weather was scorching the whole time I was away, apart Reviewom when we got to Baguio.
I found a nice hotel close to the beach...Vislas Vista De Las Islas...room was p2,000 ($43aud) a night.......Booked in for 2 nights.
Got talking to a trike driver (of all things 555) when we wandered around mpter arrival.
Turns out this guy has a bangka & offered us a good deal for a days hire.
We did a deal with the guy @ p1400 ($30aud) for him to take us out island hopping/snorkelling the next day.......He also supplied the equipment in that price.
We told him 10am-3pm would be enough, as it was fcuking hot.
We had the 15+ seater all to ourselves......plus the captain (owner) & a deckie.

We headed out for the day & first stop was a "buoyed off" protected area where they have giant clams.
Gotta say I was impressed with the water quality & vision there (I'm only a newbie snorkeller & had only done this once before in El Nido)....the clams were huge & there were plenty of species of tropical fish.
My Reviewiend Karen isn't a proficient swimmer, but she had no hesitations putting on a life jacket & jumping in & having a go.....She loved it.
We went to a few islands, but the main one was Quezon Island where we had some lunch.

Both nights we ate at Maxine's......it was virtually opposite our hotel & they specialise in sempoods.
Karen had a mudcrab @p130 ($2.85aud) per 100g....was a 700g crab.
I had beef tenderloin tips @p280 ($6.10aud)
San Mig Lights were p50 ($1.10aud)
The food was great, the place also had a nice ambience about it......there weren't many customers around. I think this was due to being mid-week & it was straight mpter holy week had finished.

Next part of the trip was Reviewom Hundred Islands to Bauang, La Union.
It was playing on my mind, that my bike was approaching 1,000 km's & it was due for it's first service.
I found a car auto service centre & they did the necessary oil change....albeit with a big audience on hand.....They don't see these kinda bikes in these necks of the woods.

Stopped off in Labrador for a coke & a smoke, opposite hospital.

At Bauang, I stay at Bali Hai East.....not to be confused with their sister hotel Bali Hai on the beachside of the road.
The East hotel is old & has a cheap charlie feel to it.......but I only ever stay there overnight & @p1150 a room, I aint complaining....It does have a restaurant & a pool....no pics this time.
It's also close to the 3 bars in town....worse case scenario is a p30-40 trike ride home when sloshed.

I had heard about a place called Thunderbird Resort, so I decided to take a peek.
Gotta say I was impressed with this place......located right on the water, but too far away Reviewom the action for me (mind you I'm not talking about a great deal of action)....it's a 5 star resort with 9 hole golf course.....prices started at p4,500 a night & IIRC you get an in house massage for that price.

Have you noticed how quickly the Kwaks engine loosens up as the km's accumulate. I remember on my 650 Ninja riding to Ao Nang when running in, could literally feeling the engine soften up whilst riding, more so than any other new bike i've had.

Just wondering, does the constant drone of the mpter market Yoshi become annoying on a long trip. When i rode the Ducati back Reviewom BKK, if i hadn't been wearing a top quality lid i'd have been demp Reviewom the Termi's on reaching Phuket!!!!

We did go barhopping in Bauang & visited the 3 bars on the highway strip.
Definitely no stunners & apart Reviewom my partner, I was the youngest guy in the bars.
The girls did have good attitude & were a fun bunch......I have a stack of pics where many of the girls got their Aussie tattoo's....but unfortunately I cannot post them here..555555
Beers IIRC were p50-60 & an Early Work Release was p1,200.
Bars also have Filo guys in them......walking in pished & sitting on 1 red horse all night......They don't seem troublesome, but I don't trust the fcukers as far as I can kick em.
I did witness one incident where a Filo guy entered a bar & dragged his BG GF out of there....WTF.
Another reason you'll see fcuk all Filo guys in bars in Subic & Angeles......as the owners advise the doormen/security not to allow em in.

I've been using my ADR complied open face helmet, it does cut much of the noise, but yes it's still loud.......I can live with the noise, as my hearing aint the best nowadays.
However since installing the Yoshi, I get alot of popping on decellaration.......I need to plug off the pair valve one day.
Take a look at the mod....
Just gotta find myself a "reliable" fella with a shed & appropriate tools....That may take some time around here.
I can live with it for now & it's not causing any damage.
