Can I introduce an adult guinea pig to a 3 week old guinea pig?

they are both males and they are father and son.
However they haven't seen eachother since I separted them 3 weeks ago.

Its always risky to introduce ANY animal, so be careful. I introduced my 7 month old male with his son when he was just 2 weeks old, and they were the best of friends.

Try letting them meet in a neutral area with treats in the middle. Purring (from dad), and squeaking (from son) is okay, just beware of chasing and loud squeals.

No matter if they are father and son or great uncle and son but male guinea pigs DONT get along. they will fight and get very agressive i wouldn't take any chances if you love them. the alder will have an advantage unless it is sick or weak.

Right, this is always risky! When I've introduced guinea pigs back together it either seems to go really well, or really not very well at all!
I would suggest gradually introducing them as you really don't know what will happen. What ever you do though make sure it's as pleasant an experience as possible (eg. calm, safe environment which they have both been in before ((preferably not one of their hutches in case they get territorial)) not too many people around etc)
This is what I would do:
Firstly house them close so they could smell each other
Secondly, house them (still separately) so they could see each other too
Then introduce them in a controlled environment a few times for a few minutes, each time gradually increasing the length of time they are together. After a few sessions if they are not getting along, I'd leave it!

This is a toughie i to have guinea pigs and they can be picky with who then want to stay with. if they havent seen eachother for 3 weeks maybe try putting them together for 10 minutes. if they are just making purr - purr sounds then its ok. if they are chattering there teeth then seperate immediatly. leave them in for another 20 minutes... observe. if everythings still fine. add some food in. and see how they feel about it. the older male fights for the food then thats a bad sign. if nothings wrong then you should be quite content hoped this helped thnx
