cancellation

Hi, i just wondered how people deal with there clients when you have to cancel there treatment, i woke up today really ill with a cold or flu and i had 2 indian head massage bookings for tonight i am just to ill to do it, but when i phoned the lady up she was not happy that i had cancelled even though i told her i was ill and offered her another booking which she did not do.
i felt she was quite rude. has anyone had this problem?

The opposite happens to me, clients cancelling due to ill health.

I think you have done the right thing. If you are not well, you are not well. As for your client - do you wish a client that is a bit of a sour puss anycase?
You will always get one that will never be satisfied what ever you do.

Hi Froggy. I had to reschedule a booking recently when my daughter was ill. I phoned my client and explained. He was really sympathetic and re-booked for a later date. Most people are ill from time to time and it's a shame your client wasn't very understanding. Don't let it upset you. Take some time to get better and recover from your illness. You are being concientious too not pass the infection on to the client. I think the paying public forget to realise that we are like the rest of the human race and that sickness can come in the way. I've only had to cancel a treatment once and she was very understanding. Get better soon!

There are always people like that, who seem to be very intolerant, but I bet you wouldn't have had a call cancelling the appointment had it been her that was ill! I have had to cancel an appointment once and thankfully they were understanding and booked in the following week.

It does make you question yourself though, 'have I done the right thing?', well Yes you did. You have to feel well enough in yourself to carry out a good treatment. She sounds like she would have complained if you had carried out a bad one, and told everyone she knew.
