Chi machines

Not too sure where to post this. Mods, please feel free to move if necessary.

I was just wondering if anyone on HP has used one of these chi machines, especially the so called 'genuine' ones manufactured by Sun Ancon. I ask because a friend of mine, who really hasn't got a lot of cash to spare, has bought one on ebay and showed it to me last night. She's convinced that it's re-energised her but after trying it for ten minutes I wasn't very taken by it. I was wondering whether anyone had any comments, either positive or negative to make about these machines.

I have clients who have spent hundreds on these devices, having been told it would 'cure' their lymphoedema. Apart from forcing them to lie down for 30 minutes, whilst their legs are 'waggled' it had absolutely no effect on the lymphoedema whatsoever. One chap returned his and got a refund, the others have simply left them to moulder in the back of a wardrobe!
Like you, I borrowed on and tried it for a few days, but am yet to be convinced of it's claims.

Ive bought one and used it abit, i do feel something from it but its hard to tell. If i dont drink the recommended water before it i do feel a detox type effect.

Also a friend who has water retention, it helped him loose the watery belly effect.

It was in Malaysia about 15 years ago, i had tried it - did not like it.

Seem like now it is not popular or no more selling in Malaysia.

At one time it was selling only USD20.00.

I've got one and I use it occasionally. I find it relaxing, but that's about it. I've seen therapists using them at Pamper days & MBS fairs and charging for sessions on them (not sure how their insurance covers them for it or what sort of 'training' they went through mind)

hm. I met one of these at a fair (paid a bit to have a go) being recommended for back and posture problems - don't recall anything being said about lymph etc.

I had a try on one of these years ago when i worked in a therapy clinic. It seemed like a bid of a 'fad' gadget to me. It does make you feel good for a while because of the movement but i'm not sure if it can claim to be of any real benefit. The therapist told me that some people swear by it and it seemed to be working for them. She said it was good for 'panic attacks' too. I think its one of those love/hate machines. Either or!!

Wow just had a look at the price - yes that is expensive for a new one anyway. I hope your friend gets some use out it Sunanda.
