Christmas specials anyone ?

Hey guys,

For the holiday season, I have decided to promote the purchase of 3 one hour massages, and you will receive a 30 min. massage free.... Now, I've contacted our local paper here in town to run an ad, and I am sending out postcards to all my clients... Business has just been really slow for me (the month of November) and I was doing so well ... staying busy and all. I just feel like I am spinning my wheels... and I know business will always have some times when its less busy than others.. but I'm at the point now, that I need to get a part time job to catch up and I don't want to because I know that it will take away from my practice. Any suggestions of other marketing ideas or Christmas/holiday specials will be appreciated.

don't despair! things will and are turning around - this has been a rough year for a lot of us, especially down here (although i know you're a little farther north than me). there are 3 massage clinics here in town that went out of business over the summer. so that fact that my doors are still open lets me know that i must be doing something right - and you should feel that too.

i'm trying to think over what some past christmas specials were for me that did so well -

and then also, anything you can add a foot treatment to will move. especially if you can use a pretty bowl and make the foot tx separate from the other session so that there's real value to it. print off some pictures like this one:

to promote it and put it on your website. having a visual when you tell the client about the new service, gift certificate, etc will also help it to sell and give you some up-front cash. there's lots of ideas you could do - use a picture of an island getaway:

and then talk about how they don't have to wait until summer for a vacation - that 'mini' vacations can be scheduled right now and what the health benefits of reducing stress are - especially during the holidays when immune systems are compromised anyway.

although selling the g/cs will give you some immediate cash flow, which you have to have to pay LA power, maybe it's time to start writing some articles for the papers, news releases related to massage (you can see samples at http://www.massagetherapy.com), etc. i know it's time for me to start doing the PR circuit again.
