DOes anybody have any experience with "Corporate Massages, Inc." or one of their divisions "Home Spa Sessions"?  

As I understand they started out Chicago and now have represenatives in Pheonix/Scottsdale and San Diego.   A rep. (called a Relaxation Specialist) "sells " the parties, coordinates everything, brings in the nail techs, massage therapists and estheticians to create a full spa experience in your home for a spa party.  

I am moving my business to a larger city and have been thinking about being  mobile rather than an based out of an office, I thought offering spa parties might be a good way to be seperated from the many (many!) other therapists in the area.   I came across their website while doing some research and contacted them about job opportunities advertised, thinking that having professional backing might make it easier for me to start.  I just read through the information packet they sent me and for all the papers and brochures it didnt seem all THAT informative.  I am going to call them on Tues. to ask questions - but you guys have never let me down before so I thought I would see if anyone around here has had any experience with this company!

I have had limited interaction with them and have not been too impressed.Most annoying is their pop up IM "customer service rep" who knows very little yet is very pushy. Everytime you linger on their website, they come after you.More importantly, I don't see how they - or you - can make much money doing this. Their prices are ridiculously low, which means finding the subcontractors to work with you will either be impossible if you pay on a %, or you will have to pay such a high % there is not much left for you or them.To get a nail tech to take off from their salon job on a Saturday - their busiest day - so they can schlep somewhere and get X% of a $40 pedicure just is not going to happen. Like it or not, nails are the most popular service at spa parties, facials second and massage 3rd. So you need to think about making the $$ on being the organizer, and the margin just is not their to make it worth your effort.Also, these parties don't happen every weekend, so they are far from a reliable source of income. We do about one a week, but we are in 8 cities, spend a boatload on website marketing. Do a google or yahoo search for spa party chicago and they don't even come up.

You are right - Relax - now that I think about it a little more and have had time to mull over their information packet. I tried to get ahold of this guy there and havent heard back yet (i have been hard to get a hold of this week) but that online operater!  good grief! I don't understand how I (the one who sets it up), the other professionals AND the company can all make enough money to make a go of it either!  Which is why I am so eager to hear back from this guy and find out what the deal is.   I wasn't impressed with the information packet they sent out - it didnt actaully SAY much of anything that I wanted to know, it didnt answer any of my questions.  It wasnt the most professional material either (printed professionaly, but lots of typos and incorrect information - WAY too "dumbed down")  ANyway - when i hear back from this guy ill post what they have to tell me for everyones future refference.   What company are you with Relax? website?
