So.... more about this.

Apparently when we presented our coupon, the owner/manager stated that the printers forgot to print an expiration date and tells us how her business is taking such a huge hit because of it. Basically it was like she was trying to make us feel bad for using this coupon. She seemed reluctant to redeem the coupon then turns it around like she is doing US a favor.

This is the same lady who.... as I was still in la-la land and drinking some water out of a GLASS started to ask me what services I got, did I like it.... did the therapist do this? Do that? BLah... blah. Yeah... I wanted to shout... leave me alone to enjoy my relaxation for goodness sake... this is why I paid all this money to be here! GRRR!

so I was so relaxed but before I left I was sort of irritated by the questions and the coupon thing. Is that weird or is it just me???

You're not weird, it's just bad etiquette on the owner/manager's part.

this is a good idea.. could you write a letter to the manager, telling both sides? you could also state that you weren't able to adequately answer their questions because you were trying to enjoy your relaxation.

we did the glass thing too, and i do that in my practice. but i also keep bottles on hand in the fridge for those who are literally running out. the majority of clients, though, sit for a few minutes afterward and enjoy their water (i also have tea singles that can be mixed if they like that) and we talk about self-care at home. the glasses makes for a lot of clean-up in a 4-therapist office, but we all do our best to carry the load.

I worked for a day spa like this when I first got my license---the owner hiked her prices, but had never placed "prices subject to change" on her old brochures, so there was a lot of conflict around this. And she was a booking nightmare so people never got in or out on time. It was such a stressful atmosphere to work in, and I can't really understand how she retained customers.

On the other hand, she was a really nice woman with a lot of drive and compassion.
