Crochet newbie help! Patten says Do Not Turn? does that mean working from left to...

...right? not flipping work? i would find it hard working from from left to right! thanks for any help!
Cuff: Ch 16.
1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc
in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 15 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back
loops only, 1 sc in each sc across.
Rep last row until work from beg
measures 6 (6¼-6½) ins [15 (16-16.5)
cm], ending with a RS row. Do not
turn.

What happens after the "Do Not Turn" instruction? It seems you have made a rectangle. After this, you may be asked to pick up stitches along one side, or will cast on new stitches and continue working. There are many reasons why you would NOT turn your work. No, you would not normally work left to right (although there is a special stitch that requires you to work left to right). We need to see the rest of the pattern to be able to know where this is going to know what is meant. But do not turn means you do not turn!

The only time I've seen do not turn is when you're making something that goes in a circle. Like on a hat, you start out making several stitches in the same place until they meet again and you slip stitch them together, and then go around and around instead of back and forth.
