do you specially wrap your gift cards or certificates?

i know there was a recent post that showed links to where to buy some certificate boxes or what-not but i was wondering how many of us here specially wrap your gift cards or gift certificates for your clients? if so, what are some of the different and unique ways you do this? have you found any cost cutting ways that are helpful with price but look just as nice?

last year i wrapped all of my gift cards in really nice looking small boxes i got from the dollar store and from party city. they were really sturdy boxes that were decorated with different designs and i filled them with shredded paper and tied them all with a fabric bow...some i would also tie a bell to the bow. this year (well, the season) i wrapped my cards in small gift bags (also filled with shredded paper). i cut off the handles that came with the bag and used fabric ribbon to tie shut and make a bow. i also again tied bells to some of the bags. they looked awesome and clients loved them. of course this was stuff for the christmas holidays. for birthdays i've used boxes, bags, small envelopes and also special gift card pillow boxes. i tried to use party hats stuffed with shredded paper with the open end sealed shut with tissue paper but it didn't work out. the gift card wouldn't quite fit it. they looked really fun ~ wish it would have worked

i'm always looking for different or unique ways to wrap my gift cards. i have so much fun with it but sometimes it seems to cost me a fortune!

It is a great idea to dress up your gift certificate in a special box or in some other packaging. The reason is because it then looks more like a gift. It makes the giver look good. When buyers see that special packackage, they can imagine themselves giving it, and it making a splash with the receiver. So you are helping them out. It might cost more money, but since you generally make a lot with gift certificate sales because of the perceneforum.xxxe of people who don't redeem them, then you can afford to make them look great.

In the past we have put them in a silver pillow box with a bow. We would give the purchaser a choice of bow colors. We would display this packaging and let folks know it was free. Buyers where thrilled that they got such a nice package to give the gift certificate in.

P.S. Even Home Depot increased their gift certificate sales by offering them in a gift box.
