We are growing and will offer water services including a steam shower and quite possibly bubble jet bath tub. What sort of insurance do I ask for?? Currently I have my ABMP insurance plus another policy that covers my butt if I burn down the entire building instead of just my own space because in my opinion, ABMP doesn't cover enough if you are much more than a one room renter.

What type of insurance do I tell my agent I want?? I don't want to walk in there looking like a complete moron.

You could talk to your general insurance agent (the life, health, auto, home guy/gal) and ask about an umbrella policy.

You may want to get Business Owners Insurance.

My Business Owners policy is with a sister company of SAFECO - in my case America First Insurance. You can look at this map (scroll down a bit on the page) to determine who would be the sister carrier for your region.

I purchase it through my local general insurance company, as Pete mentioned. I also use my local insurance company for my Business Flood policy.

Marine Agency can give you all you need. They specialize in the beauty/spa/wellness industry.

ABMP et al don't cover other workers, and most landlords don't recognize the insurance of sub contractors. Their lease is with you, not your employees or ICs.
