I am a member of the local chamber here and I just attended one of our Business After Hours Social. There were about 600 members in attendance and a great networking event. They allow businesses to set up booths and advertise their business. I am thinking about getting a booth for the October event. I figure this would be a good time to set up since it's before Christmas and I feel I could get some good business, plus I can remind people that Christmas is coming faster than we know and gift certificates make a GREAT gift! I am planning on doing 5 min. mini chair massages there and would like to give something away for free to remind people of me, and I am thinking I will offer $10 off an hour massage ($55 is my rate) if you book your appointment that night. I want to be creative though and not do pens or the usual thing that EVERYONE else does, but will do that if I can't come up with something that won't cost me an arm and a leg. Wondering if anyone has an inexpensive idea for me. The booth is $150 so I don't want to spend a whole lot on freebies especially if I will be offering discounts on massages and giving a quick massage. Let me know! TIA

Hi. I totally understand about finding something inexpensive to give away. We have our 2nd anniv. coming up and I found a company that cheap votive candles. I'm going to put ribbbon around them and attach a $5.00 off coupon.

how about purchasing some small paper bags (like kids lunch size paper sacks) and putting some little goodies inside. goodies such as a bottle of water, a little snack - like a couple of candies, bite size candy bars or granola bar, your brochure or a special flyer printed just for this event and some other massage related info. possibly a handout of benefits of massage or other health related topics. good luck....have fun with it!

You could get colored small bags and add in individually wrapped tea bags (green tea comes to mind) - tie three together with a piece of raffia and add in some individually wrapped gummie yummies.

A friend of mine who has an acupuncture clinic did this with Kasugai gummies, chop sticks, a small tea bowl, teas tied together, her brochure & card.

Kasugai gummies are not your ordinary gummy. They are individually wrapped gourmet gummies from Japan! They are made with real fruit juice. Each gummy is packed with a burst of refreshing fruit flavor and a most pleasant aroma.

In my new client baggy (it is small, about 3.5 x 6.75 inches; I get them at Michael's) I include a biz card magnet (if you don't want to buy the printed type, get a box of magnets from Staples etc. and stick your biz card to them), a sample of Biofreeze or Sombra, a piece of dark chocolate (Dove's Raspberry is a favorite) and a packet of Emergen-C. You could obviously include a coupon (I did that when I first opened up).

Sombra is a great product (lubricants) and they will send you super samples just for the asking (at least they did a back when I was a student). Here is the profile of our very own sombraman.

I asked about this in another thread. I'm getting some of those hand-held massage tools (like "nukkles" or the "knobble") customized with my office's name and info. ePromos DOT com has very nice wooden ones that are laser engraved with your info. Very snazzy.

$3/each, minimum order 100, $45 setup fee.

I also saw screen printed plastic ones, for $2/each, but I think they look cheap compared to the wooden ones.

I'm not sure exactly what promotional use we'll put them to. We get 50+ people in the office each week for acupuncture appointments, so perhaps we could give them away free with the purchase of a massage or any non-acupuncture treatment.

How about a baggie of scented bath salts? I got 100 4X6in ziplock bags for $2.99, and filled them with epsom salts mixed with essential oil. You can print address labels with your name & phone number on it and stick them on the baggies. It's a really cheap, nice little gift.

I do this, too ~ and I have found that the snack size baggie holds the perfect amount of salts for a foot bath. Around the holidays they can be found with printed designs, which could coincide with seasonal specials I might be offering.

I did an event where I handed out "relaxation kits"

at Dollar Tree I found small wedding favor basket thingys, cardboard kind. Like pack of 10 for $1.

in went some natural raffia at the bottom, *a tea bag, *a Dove chocolate, *a small votive (Sams club - very small -> sized between a tea light and real votive - very cheap - located in the resturant section) * a coupon printed on a business card sized template, on the back was a *quick stress relieving tip.

ALSO did an event where I handed out Wellness DVDs found at Dollar Tree for $1 each, and Relaxation CDs found at Dollar Tree also $1 ea.


Oh...and I did a Womens Health Booth for Heart Awareness and I handed out treat bags of dry Whole Wheat Penne Pasta with a recipe for a quick pasta sauce for two (the bag had two servings of pasta) everyone LOVED this, seriously, my booth had people lined up for this giveaway.
*You could tie in health and wellness, how they go hand in hand or something.*
I Bought two BIG bags of pasta from Sams (CHEAP) and some treat bags from Dollar Tree, printed out a recipe card on cardstock to tuck inside, tie a coupon to the top....Viola. super easy, super cheap, something new.

Just after Christmas the spa I work at runs a big special on 60-minute massages that brings in A LOT of new clients. This thread has given me some great ideas for small inexpensive gifts to give to clients. This is what I'm thinking about for this year... small gift bag filled with a couple coupons, a newsletter about benefits of massage, my brochure, business card magnet, and several Bon Vital samples. Bon Vital has a foot balm, cooling gel, and scrub that come in sample packets for $.30 each. I haven't tried them yet - just ordered some about an hour ago. If those items are as good as the rest of their products that I've tried, they'd make a great addition to the gift bag. Add some pretty ribbon on the top, and it'll certainly beat my plain business envelope with coupons and a business card that I used last year.

I recently received my Bon Vital sample pack. Unfortunately the scrub and cooling gel are on back order. I did get the foot balm though. It has a rather strong kind of medicinal/minty scent. It doesn't seem to have much of a "cooling" feeling, but I REALLY liked how soft it made my feet and that it was not greasy. I'll definitely be ordering these for my christmas gift bags for clients. I'll let you know about the others once I receive them.
