I am so upset with myself. The landlord insisted I have insurance to cover this property I am renting so that if someone is on the property after hours and gets injured and sues, the landlord and myself are protected. ABMP only offers protection if it is a client/potential client coming into the office during business hours. I totally forgot to pay my last premium for this 'gap' insurance and they cancelled my policy refusing to reinstate. They were the only company the local insurance companies could find who would insure me. Do any other renters have to have this coverage? If so, who do you use?

I would think that if you got your account up to date you could stay with the same company. To me it sounds like insurance the landlord should pay for if he wants it. Is it in your lease?

Yes, he has fire coverage for the buildng, but asked that I provide my own liability. I don't understand why the insurance company refused to reinstate me either, but what's done is done. I am going to speak with the landlord today about it.
