How do YOU feel about the office space? Do you think it is a good idea? It sounds good but without knowing details, it's hard to say. Will you be an independant contractor, employee, what will you make, etc.?I worked for my massage instructor for a while. I ended up doing most of the office work. I did medical billing and ran errands. Little to no massage work. I did learn a lot and do think it helped me BUT I was not happy because I wasn't doing what I wanted to do (massage). So my suggestion is--know what you are getting into. Will you be responsible for answering the phone...if yes, is that okay? Will you have to do your own laundry...if yes, is that okay? If you ever leave your teacher's office, will you be able to take clients with you? Learn what you will have to do and decide if it is worth the time/energy/effort.As far as building a strong base of clients....start getting your name out there in any way possible. Go to meetings, organizations, fairs and offer massage. You will probably go through a lot of "unfaithful" clients before you find your regulars. Send out flyers. Target specific industries. I've got several ladies in the same office. They are constantly sending people my way. If you can get your name out there to one specific group of people and they constantly hear about you....you'll get some of them too. Just get your name out there!!!
