Has anyone had luck marketing to doctor's offices?

I am planning to specialize in prenatal. I'd like to market to Obstetricians to do prenatal masage in their offices one day a week or so. I'd like to offer the doctors office 25% just to cover the extra work they'll have in advertising and taking appointments for me.

I have done some research but I'm not coming up with a lot as far as the sales part of this. I'm just not sure how to get doctors to listen to me!? I'm a pretty decent sales person as sales was my first career, but I know doctors are notoriously hard to reach. "Sigh"

If anyone has experience with this, I'd love some advice.

My gyno one day (while I was in stirrups mind you lol) was looking over my chart and noticed i was a MT he offered for me to advertise with him. He told me I could leave my business cards by his sign in window.
I never did it, I am not sure why (was years ago) it was probably because I was fresh out of school and I had that fear at the time of massaging a pregnant woman.

First off, do you have specialized training/certification in Prenatal Massage? If yes, read on. If no, go get it.

Second, have you worked on pregnant women very much? If so, contact them and see where their gynos, obstetricians, etc are. See if you can get some testimonials from them. If you are currently working with a pregnant woman, see if she will recommend you to her physician(s). Simple word of mouth is a powerful thing!

Third, scout the premises of some places you would like to approach. Find out who the decision maker(s) are. Then see what you need to do to meet with them. If you scout the office in person, go in professional attire, looking like someone they could trust not to hurt their patients. Be up front and direct in dealing with staff and the physicians.

Fourth, consider reading A Physician's Guide to Therapeutic Massage. It has a lot of good info for physicians, and may help you better understand how to talk to them in concepts they may be more familiar with. Good communication is the key to establishing and maintaining solid working relationships.
