Hey, they're all raising their prices?!?

I  recently learned that our local MT's are increasing prices.  I, on the other hand, am reluctant to increase prices.The increase is about 15% over my current pricing structure.  I am concerned that we are a small community charging big city prices.  But then again, I could be wrong.  Should I consider waiting 30-45days before increasing my prices or just make the adjustment that about 99.9% of the MT's have already made?

I think you need to feel that your work is worth what you charge.It really doesn't matter what everyone else is chargingif you don't feel like you are worth it then don't raise your rates until you dn the other hand if you do deel that you are worth it then by all means raise your rates but do a % incerase that you think your worth, regaurdless of what every one elese is doing.I have a you get what you pay for attitude and in my arae prices range from 30 to over a 100. for an hour massage.so to me if you want a good one you have to pay for it and trust me people dolook at it this way if you buy a 20.00 phone is it going to be as good as one for 50.00 or 150.00 chances are  no but then most people don't expcet it to be.

To answer some of your questions:About 99.9% are increasing pricesAbout 90% use the same price structureI have been in business about 13yrs and increased prices about 3x's ie $35,45 and $50/hr.  Currently, I have most clients paying either $45/hr or $65/90min because they buy more than one session at a time.  I am considering an increase for g/c simply because they have no expiration and they are either used immediately or within a couple of years.  Also, will drop the 30 minute massage and decrease the price break they are receiving for a series of massages.  This is my plan at the moment.  Thanks for all input.

Push the series, and get clients to by them for friends too.  This works well for me during the holidays.
