How are those V-day specials going?

Hi all,
We had a lot of talk about Valentine's Day specials. How are they going? Are you having much success with them?

Unfortunately, mine is not going so well. We got our flyers out late and when I came into work after they had been printed out and put out......I found that they had screwed them up! Instead of offering a chocolate mud wrap with a rose facial massage, followed by a 45 full body massage.....it says we're offering the wrap and a 45 minute rose facal massage! Also, when I gave the package description to my co-worker to print on the flyers I put a post-it note.....I told her that if "sinfully decadent chocolate mud wrap" didn't sound good to just take out the "sinfully". As I said, it was on a post-it note on top of everything......she included it into the flyer!!! I was NOT pleased.

I offered to come in and take care of it oringinally but everyone said that it would be fine, they would take care of it.......So it's getting closer to V-day and the wrong fliers are still out. I am so frustrated! By the time we get the correct flyers printed it's going to be too late. It's times like these that I really want to be my own boss! Hope everything is going better for everyone else!

How are those V-day specials going?

Hi all,
We had a lot of talk about Valentine's Day specials. How are they going? Are you having much success with them?

Mine are actually going better than expected - I pretty much only use the website for advertising things, particularly for gift certificates. I only put my "Valentine specials" page up a week ago, link on home page, link on gift certificate page. I've had 6 gift certificates purchased since then Only averaging one a day, but I am in Australia and Valentine's Day is not such a HUGE thing out here. But those 6 have been 3 yesterday, 2 the day before and one already this morning and it's before 11am..... Could turn into a relative gift certificate frenzy over the weekend/Monday.

This is the first year I have actually done anything to promote V-Day...my big GC sales are for the Christmas holidays. With my office being more of a "clinic" with a warm comfortable feel to it, lots of personal touches, it does not feel like a "Spa". I believe that most women would rather get V-Day GC's for a spa versus a "clinic". And I respect that. So, to make a long stary short (boy is that hard for me to do!) our sales have been minimal, only 3 rose petal massages so far. Granted there are still a few days left, but I am realistic!

Well, don't give up hope, guys. I am banking on the past years' experience that most people shop for Valentine's Day and Birthdays at the last minute. We have two nioce specials going that people can take advaneforum.xxxe of themselves for February appointments, or buy as gift certificates. We have done + sold maybe 10 so far. (I like offering the specials as appointments and gift certs, because if we can't fit the appt requests in, they usually buy that gift cert for themselves to reserve the special offer.)

Our specials are 1 hr massage, 1 hr facial & original composition jazz CD called "Romance" for $109

or

90 mins massage, 90 mins facial and CD with gift card for $149

It's just now going! I guess it really is a "last minute gift" holiday! Thursday at the fitness club I suddenly had 3 massages for that night, and they sold some massage GC's. I just had a call for another GC this morning, and hints of another. I'm waiting to see what happens in the next 3 days!

Told ya. I just checked & while I am home today with the flu, we sold $474 in instant gift certificates on the website. Pretty cool. It'll be interesting to see what happens on Monday & Tuesday!

Hey Jill, I signed up with SpaBoom and just got it up & running! I'm a bit behind the curve for Valentine's Day, and don't have my website info out in very many places yet, but I am hopeful! I just put new brochures out announcing the website and instant gift certificates. Thanks for the great info!

In January I added Valentine's Gift Certificates, etc to my keywords. I also say on our voicemail message "Did you know you can now buy personalized, instant gift certificates on our website? Well....I have the hot links on the website, and had my first gift certificate sale online last night, so that is thrilling! The "meta eforum.xxxs & keywords" have me lost, though. What's that? (insert sheepish smiley here) I am starting to realize where my massage therapy education REALLY lacked, and that was in the technology aspects!!!!

I love the idea of adding the website/gift cert/appt. request info to my voice mail message, AND I know how to do that!! Thank you!

Much to my surprise, we quadruppled last years V-Day GC's, not including the appointments we have booked (I think at last count it was 3 Rose Petal Massages done so far) Last year we may have sold $250, this year it was $1150! I'm sure it pales in comparrison to Sage's, but again, we are a clinic...I am very pleased! (Not to mention looking ahead to Mother's Day!)

upate to last year's valentines questions:
what are you doing this year?

last night i ordered some beautiful bags from oriental trading corp. i can get tissue paper here cheaper than ordering it from them. i also plan to include some of the bath salts that i'm starting to carry with the g/cs that are purchased in-office.

as far as specials go, i got a small universal catalog yesterday with malaysian products on the back. they sound SO yummy and i'm interested in doing something with that. i'm also really tempted to buy that perfectsense paraffin unit but with the treatments you have to buy i'm a little hesitant on the cost especially since i'm moving and getting new furniture and such. i don't know, my clients love new treatments and i know they'd love this too.

so, i'll probably do the malaysian body gloss as a 30 minute treatment, and if i decide to get the perfectsense i'll create a hydrotherapy foot treatment with the malaysian butter and paraffin. i'm still trying to come up with a longer session. we'll see.

oh, and i also bought some small, simple heart decorations to hang in the retail area... from oriental trading too... the open house will be before v day so i want to have it decorated and hopefully get people in the mood to purchase!

i received loads of chocolate from my relatives during Christmas. it's nice chocolates like lindt and ghirardelli. that's the last thing i need right now. : i'm going to unload it on my clients. i'm going to put them in those red chinese takeout style boxes and include them with my gift certificates.

LoL I was reading the first few posts and was freaking out a little since I haven't started my plans for V-day specials and people were talking about last minute...then I read that the posts were dated last year. Phew guess I still have time!

I start thinking about Valentine's Day in early January. That way, your clients have it in their heads too. The clients who come in the early part of the month are the ones we want to get to earlier. If you wait until the end of January, you may miss out on sales because you wont see those monthly clients until after Valentine's day unless they make a special trip.

ITA. i've gotten my e-newsletter vday promo all ready to go, and will send it out in a week or so and then do a reminder about ten days before hand. i also have moving and other things on the agenda so i'll make sure that i have the vday promos separate. spaboom has some great designs this year. i also will start talking about the g/cs in my BNI a heck of a lot sooner than i started with the christmas sales.
