How do I introduce two female guinea pigs to each other?

I've had a young female (about 3 months old) for about a week and a half. I really feel she needs a friend. How do I go about introducing another guinea pig to her?

Also be sure to have adequate housing space. Look into a C&C cage.

put them in cages next to each other for a while.let them in each others cage for a bit and repeat the same thing slowly adding more time untill they bond.

Well done for getting another guinea pig so she can have a friend. Guinea pigs always need to live with a friend. To introduce them do it outside the cage and watch carefully to see how they react with each other. Have a towel ready in case they get aggressive so you can drop the towel on one of them to stop any fights. Make sure you clean the cage before you put them both in there as it will have your piggies scent in it and it will feel to her like someone is coming in on her territory. I am sure they will get along as females usually do. I wish you the best of luck.

Well I had the same problem, only with rats. So...I had two seperate cages and brought them closer together over time. Once they are very close for a while, try putting one into the other cage, and see if they react. Of they respond positively, then keep them together longer. If they respond negitively, move the cages further apart and then start moving them closer overtime again, and do the same thing. Soon they will get used to each other. Also to speed things up, you can even bring them together earlier and see how they react. It takes time.
