Hey!! How effective is deep tissue massage for osteoarthritis? I have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis a few weeks back.
I used to experience pain in my right knee when I'm very active but the pain gradually diminishes after taking proper rest. Also, there was slight swelling but I didn't bother about it. A few weeks back I was not able to walk because of the stiffness and my hubby took me to a GP in our locality. He said these are the symptoms of osteoarthritis and advised me to take proper rest.
While researching online, I saw that massage therapy is good for osteoarthritis. I don't know how far it is true. I have heard that deep tissue massage helps to stimulate the nervous system and soothes the nerves themselves at the same time.
Has anyone here had undergone this therapy? My husband has scheduled an appointment with the best rmt in Toronto for next week. Any insights are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
