How often do you get tested?

This is specifically for those of us who like a little bbbj and/or daty/dato - how often do you get tested?

I’ve been indulging in this for a few months now and while I haven’t had symptoms of anything, I figure I should get tested since I do enjoy bbbj and daty.

Last encounter was last night, so according to teletest.ca I should wait until Nov 30 to get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. The default for teletest is for blood test but I am trying to get a mouth swab.

So question for the rest of you - how often do you get tested and how do you get tested? If at all.

I guess for the next couple of weeks I get to take a break from playing…

Thanks for the thread. I had been engaging in the same thing frequently for about 18 months. Been tested three times at Lifelabs blood and urine maybe swab can not remember through my family doctor. He always says have only safe sex so I am finding it hard to ask him again. I know about safe sex and hard to be totally safe. Evidence of symptoms is a big factor in communicating most STD, I like the girls wet wipe also checking for STD symptoms.. People say all sorts of shit when it comes to health so you know they are going to find quarry. These girls have plenty of unsafe encounters but do not catch much of anything over the time I have seen them. Herpes was always my big worry and you get breakouts where they could not work. Alice planned her trip to China for a month so do not come to any conclusions. Do not know everything but at what I am doing now do not worry unless symptoms. As is I am not a fucking sissy and want a good sex life which I was not getting practicing only safe sex. why not? Testing is free and confidential if you are in Toronto. you don't need OHIP. You don't go to your doctor if you visit one of the Toronto sexual health clinics.

ETA: I only found this out after I signed up and paid for a STD tests via TeleTest.ca - I guess I'll just go to the health clinics and get the swabs done there for free.

I never really gave it much thought. I was always thinking that if I’m feeling OK, there was no need for me to get tested. Come to think of it now I think I might just go and get myself checked you never know.

hah yea. I am feeling fine. no symptoms whatsoever. But I think every 3 months isn't a bad tempo since it's free and confidential. I've only been doing this for like 6 months and haven't been tested at all in the last 6 months so I am taking a break until the test results come back.

Durham Region: Sexual Health and Clinic
Peel Region: Healthy sexuality clinics - peelregion.ca

It looks like Halton is a bit more restrictive - they want you to go to your doctor or walk in clinic if possible, but basically anyone here can go to the Halton clinic since it's either sex workers or the johns (like us). https://www.halton.ca/For-Residents/Sexual-Health/Sexual-Health-Clinics

Hamilton would prefer you go to your family doctor or walk in clinic as well, but if you want to be private, you can also go to the hamilton clinics: Sexual Health Clinics | City of Hamilton

The websites say that you can go without ohip. I did go to the Scarborough one and they asked. I assume they charge if possible but will use funding to cover the non ohip cases. The websites also say they can be anonymous, but I did give my info. I believe that they have a system where if your results are ok they don’t call. But if there is something they will call and use a code word. Even if your results are all ok, you have the option of going into the clinic and getting your results. It’s all for safety for the (predominantly) women clientele.
