How should i introduce my new kitten to my dog?

Two months ago i picked a kitten off the street. My parents agreed to let me keep him and i've named him Kobe. I also have a two year old doberman, her name is Mary Jane. I've had her since she was two months and she has NEVER been socialized with ANY animals before. She used to come inside all the time but had been locked outside because whenever she sees Kobe she jumps at the glass door and growls. I already introduced their scents to each other and my dad even let them sniff noses(through an open window) She doesn't growl anymore and she pretends like he isnt there. We think Mary Jane is ready to be an inside-outside dog again. Kobe has no problems with her. What is the best way to introduce them together? Me and my dad were thinking about getting a muzzle for my dog and introducing them like that. Any other ways?

what you should do is start off with them both in a room, in a controlled environment, with a leash on. or, for your cat, some sort of restraint so that the animals can be pulled apart easily if things don't go well. if you do this several times a day for several weeks then you should be fine. every several times you can increase the amount of time they spend together and how little they can be restrained. this way you can ensure that they can be fine with each other without taking too many chances. good luck!
