My roommate is getting a little puppy today, and he's one of the smaller dogs, so.. he'll be extra tiny. My cat is 1 years old, and doesn't really like dogs. She's very, very curious about them though. My neighbors little dog sometimes visits, and she'll try to sniff him or get close, but he's too hyperactive & scares her away. She's only hissed a couple times at him, and never really lunged for an attack. She lets me pick her up when she's uncomfortable, so I'm assuming she just doesn't want confrontation.
Now, with the puppy, what approach should I have? Let her do her own thing, or..? I'm kinda worried that she won't like him at all, and if he's very hyperactive I'm afraid she won't be able to properly get his scent, etc. Anything I should do?
Thanks.
Also, this won't be happening for a few days. My cat is at the vet, and when she comes home I have to keep an eye on her, so.. I have time to prepare.
