How should President Obama have been introduced as?

I am sure I am being picky. The other day he was introduced as "The President of the United States". After his speech it was "The President of The United States of America".
How could that person have made such an error!!!!!

I noticed that too. It can be done either way and I think Obama would do fine without a teleprompter and does go without it more than people realize it.

It doesn't really matter. If you only said The President of The United States, it could also mean the president of Mexico, but by specifying America, we know that it is "the president."
