How to introduce potty?

So I just bought a potty for my 11 month old daughter. She ahs started to take her nappy off or try to when just in that and no clothes and I was told that its a sign you should start. However she dislikes the potty alot. She cried when I made her sit on it...i tried to show her with her sisters baby born doll which wees when you give it water but she just found that amusing (the sister isnt my daughter so I havent done this before) How do i get her to not hate it and use it? She knows what to do on the big toilet but wont sit on the baby seat. (laughs at me when i pee)
I was potty trained by 15 months during day so it can be done. I just want her to get used to it. And to the ever so helpful answerer no2 I tried that,.didn't work. any other ideas?
Also she does. understand some instructions.no, bath time, dinner, shoes, milkies. I'm sure i can teach her potty

I did it the "old-fashioned" way, following my Mum's advice.
Before my babes had really cottoned on to anything much and were able to accept everything that happened to them, I just whipped off the nappy and held them over the potty for half a minute after each feed once they were able to support their own heads.
When the time for more serious "training" arrived, they accepted the potty as just another normal thing in their lives. Both my girls were out of nappies during the day at 18 months. No fuss, no trauma, no tantrums. I'm not sure how you reconcile a little bottom to a hard cold surface once they have reached the awareness stage, unless the "gold Star" reward system would work.
