I have two adult male cats. One is 2-3 years old and the other is almost 12 years old. For the majority of their lives they haven't lived with any other cats but seem to tolerate dogs well. I need to introduce them to one another (I will be bringing the 12 year old into the house the 2-3 year old lives in). Does anyone have any advice on how to bring them together without a lot of fighting?

Bring the 12 year old in slowly. Leave him in the cat carier and let the younger one sniff him. Monitor all their interactions, and keep the new cat in a room on his own at night for the 1st few weeks, until you trust them to be alone together. Keep a water spray at hand, so if they fight, you can give them a quick spray. This won't hurt them, but will surprise them enough to get them to stop. After a few weeks, they will have a dominance higherarchy, and seeing as it is his territory, the younger one will probably be the more dominant one, but that depends on their personality.
