I *heart* our new office!

Last night we were awakened by a HUGE noisy storm coming through. I had dreams of the banners we have up on the building flipping and flopping all over the place (one says "Grand Opening" and the other is a place-holder until we can get our sign). When we got here this morning, they were still nice and secure (the landlords had put them up, and they did a good job!).

Later on we noticed some water spots on a few of the drop-ceiling tiles. DH went out to tell the landlords, and within five minutes, one of them was in here, with one of their workmen, to take a look at it. Fifteen minutes later, we had 3 new ceiling tiles in, with a promise that they'll keep a lookout for where the water came from. Since the building is so new, they're still working the kinks out.

But it was SO NICE to have the issue handled within twenty minutes of our noticing it! And, they swept up their mess on the way out!

So far, things are working out well for us here. We're still in the "settling in" seforum.xxxe, where we're trying to decide where to put what and how the "flow" will go. I haven't done a massage here yet, but I have one scheduled for Thursday, and I'm sure DH will allow me to "practice" on him if we can find the time beforehand (which is looking unlikely).

And he is also warming up to the new software. I still have so much to learn and get entered and all, but he can at least "check in" clients and "take payments" when they leave. All he needs to get now is "taking appointments", which I'll walk him through later today.

I still have to get the photos from the photographer, but I'll post some pics as soon as I can!

Congrats - life is good when you have a responsive landlord!

If only you were closer, I'd let you practice on me.

BTW, what software are you using? Pros/cons?

Pete, I decided to try Spa-Booker Lite (for one room & two therapists), and so far, it's working out well.

I need to really sit down with this software and finish exploring it. I know that we're not utilizing all of its features yet. I'll do a pros & cons list after I've had more time to do that. Right now, I'm still kind of "dabbling my feet", and I know I don't have an accurate perception of it yet. What I do know is that DH has watched some of the tutorial videos and was impressed, and as long as he can make appointments, and check clients in and out, we're doing well.

Thanks! I got the CD of the photos today; I'll try to post them tomorrow. We have had SO MANY compliments on the decor; we are extremely pleased and feel SO "at home" in there now that it's all together. Spa-Booker is getting easier to use, and while we had some sketchy stuff going on with the electric company we initially stared out with, we've changed companies (gotta love Texas/deregulation!), and were extremely pleased to find that the new company did not charge us a deposit! I'm hoping that we'll be able to afford the lighted sign we want for the building sooner, rather than later, as we only get to keep the banner up for 60 days per city regulations. And I think we've found the next CEU class we're going to attend, as well.

Things have begun rolling forward. Slowly-- we've decided that even though most of our clients supposedly "know we're open now", we should still start making some calls and/or maybe send a few written letters. But the books will fill up in time.
