He seems to be entranced with her. He's always been an aggressive little guy and incredibly playful with any other animals but when I actually introduced her it was like he was romancing her. I know for a fact that they're both fixed, he's a year old and she's around 3 months. She didn't seem interested in him at all and has avoided him a bit. He rubs his whole body against her side and nuzzles her face, hasn't once even playfullu nipped her. At one point she wanted to 'fight' and he only half-heartedly swatted back at her, as if he was letting her win. Normally he loves top scrap around with my dog and tries to appear quite fierce. It's such a change of attitude for him that I was really worried. I would have adopted him with another ferret as a kit but I wanted to start with one and get two when I was confident with the first a bit later. Is this just because he hasn't played with other ferrets since he was a tiny kit, just intrigue and curiousity; or is he in love? lol Do you ferrets do mating rituals for each other. When they played outside the cages he just followed her wherever she went keeping his nose tight to her tail or bottom while she didn't bother with him. Is she acting strangely that she hasn't been interested ion him at all? She got playful once with him and gave up when he didn't put up a fight. He largely dwarfs my girl (around 5 lbs) and her being only around 1/2-1 lb, but hasn't seemed dominant at all. When i adopted her she had a female playmate that she loved to wrestle with.
One other issue is that her fur is fairly thin, could she be younger than she has been sold to us as? They're born pretty hairless don't they? She just seems so small. lol
