I'm a newbie and concerts. Question on buying tickets?

Okay. On the day of the concert, can you buy the tickets?
I know in this concert- like event called Warped Tour, you can buy it on the day the concert starts, it'll just be more expensive. And you have to get there early.
I'm not going to Warped Tour, I'm just going to some concert (Not sure yet) in LA during the summer.
I'm not going to a super popular concert like Lady Gaga or the Jonas Brothers, or Ke$ha.
My music taste is kinda electro/screamo/indie. There will be a decent amount of people but not thousands and thousands of people.
Examples of bands I might see: Dance Gavin Dance, Crystal Castles, 3OH!3, The devil wears prada.
(Don't comment on my taste of music. -____- I listen to more indie & electro stuff now but they're not even touring)

SO, can you buy tickets on the same day of the concert?
Can I call the venue to make sure?
Because I can't buy them online. I need to give 'em cash.

Some venues you can call up and see when their ticketing hours are, and they usually sell tickets during show days. But you'd have to go to the venue itself if you're paying cash and would like to get them before hand.

i love DGD haha. but it sounds as if its not that big of a venue so chances are you can probably buy them the day of. you can probably call ahead and ask, they could even possibly put you on will call. which if you dont know is they have your name on a list and you pay and pick up the tickets day of.
