I'm a newbie to getting a horse? Welsh pony?

Hello there fellow horse people!
I'm thinking about getting a welsh pony for riding in about 8-9 months. I have experience, And I'm very responsible, I would rather stay home and take care of my animals then go out with my friends and I have before! I'm super duper excited to get the pony! The reason I want a welsh pony and not something a bit bigger is because..... I LOVE horses, But I'm a small person and I get scared of them sometimes (If you must you can make fun of me because of that and Say that I'm not fit to get a horse because of it but I won't listen) And I love Ponies, And I love The way they are! And I have wanted one for quite some time now. I'm going to ask for permission to get one for my birthday, I will be paying for it myself ( Maybe with a little help) And when I say Paying for it by myself, I mean the horse and the basic supplies and tack, not all the long term stuff because that costs a Horse are too much for one 13 year old to handle. I have a decent allowance because I do a decent amount of work, I DO NOT just get money handed over to me, It takes a lot out of me, But its worth it! I'm excited out of my mind to get him!!

I want a 10-15 year old welsh pony gelding, Very experienced, Does best riding on trails, More for distance and not for speed. Thats the kind of Horse I want.

Don't narrow your search to only Welsh ponies. There are a lot of crossbred ponies out there that are very nice, and would suit you well. Keep an open mind.

I also own a welsh Pony. He is steel grey gelding and the best little pony ever. He was rescued a year ago by me and he has come a long way since. Doesn't jump anymore and is so friendly.
He is a good doer like many welsh ponies as their breed were designed for the welsh climate and mountains and hills and weather. Therefore i don't feed him hard food until the winter and even then he only gets two scoops of Happy Hoof. I get up at 6:00 to feed all my horses and poo pick.
We bought a good leather bridle for just £18. New aswell. But bits cost more! Rugs aswell. Although he doesnt need much of a rug (not heavy ones) Or he gets too hot because he doesnt really need one but he wasnt well last year due to recovering from an infection when i go him..
£ 10 a month for him.-Summer
£25 a month for him- winter

But other people spend more its just he doesn't need it. he gets fat. He has good access to grass and shelter.

i have a welsh sec D!

My pony came with his tack ( saddle and bridle), he cost £2000
all my rugs, boots, grooming kit etc etc, cost around £2000 in itself!

I spend around £500 a month on livery, farrier (every 6-8 weeks) , hay, feed (happy hoof), vet (annually or emergency), dentist (6 months- 1 year), i also get his back and saddle checked regularly!

my horse needs riding 5-6 days a week!
He also needs turnout and (like most horses) panics on his own, he has to have other horses otherwise he just goes crazy!

my horse gets fed and turned out ( unless i am riding) at 6:30-7:00am and fed again at night once he is put away around 6-7pm

feeding depends on the breed for a welsh pony i would recommend dengie Hi-Fi lite maybe a couple handfuls for tea and a handful for breakfast! and a hay-net and night and morning and then turned out in between to play and graze with his friends!! x

School days 4, down the stables for 5, ride till half six, home for half seven, school at 8.
Weekends 7.

And it really depends on the horse.
