A Long Island store may have the perfect remedy to help your kids go to sleep at night: Monster spray.
The Making Monster Spray class at in2ition mercantile (1475 Montauk Hwy., Oakdale) allows kids to get involved with aromatherapy — with a fun twist. Kids can decorate a personalized sticker for their spray bottle by drawing the monster that they want to scare away. Then, each child will smell some of the essential oils (lavender, tangerine, tea tree and chamomile), and choose their favorite while learning about the benefits of each one. For example, lavender helps make monsters (and kids!) sleep. With the help of a parent or store employee, kids will drop the oils into their spray bottle to create their very own scent.

“I decided to create this class after seeing how intrigued my nephew was in making aromatherapy products, such as soap and candles,” said Jennifer Wojcieski, owner of in2ition. “That’s when I designed a class where kids can learn how to make a room spray that will also benefit their health. Not to mention help parents with their children’s bedtime routine.”
