Introduce a girl and boy rat?

hi, ive had girl rats before both single and in groups and have just recently got my first boy, he was in a group and was very nice in the pet shop but as soon as i got him home he started nipping which turned into biting with bleeding, we had him neutered about 2 weeks ago and understand he still may have hormones but he still bites (less than before) but still bites us, so i would like some advice on a friend introduction, we dont want to get another boy incase a dominance problem occurs, so we thought a girl maybe better after he reaches 2months after his castration, would this be a good idea? we cannot get him out all day as i am at uni and my bf works so we think a friend would be kinder and think a girl would be less of a problem with fighting, would this be good and if so how would i introduce them?

"he's castrated!" no balls no babies, hence why I said I'd wait til 2 months after his op when his sperm would all be gone, and a boy mate would beat him up coz he would show no aggression anymore, so as the first answer agreed I think a girl would be the lesser of two evils

AAAA! No no no no no no. Do NOT introduce a boy and girl. First of all, they'll probably try to kill each other, but if they don't you'll end up with about a million little rats running all over the place. The male might be stressed out by the smells of other rats. You could try putting him in a different room or try giving him a bunch of toys. I've had a bunch of rodents, so I have a bunch of experience.

it would work great since he is neutered but if he wasnt u would find little baby ratties but anyway 2 males or 2 females would work also if u neutered both males then they wouldnt have problems with each other

first neutur then both so there wont be babies (unless you want babies =) Then hold them by eachother and let them sniff eachother. DO NOT leave them alone until your sure after maybe 2-4 weeks that they are used to eachother. If they dont like eachother, do what you can to get him to like you I guess?
