Introduce myself to girl?

Theres a girl i want to talk to at work. Ive never spoken to her, and im so frustrated with my shyness. Im going to walk up to her, say excuse me to get her attention and introduce myself and tell her what department i work in, tell her ive seen her around and wanted to introduce myself. Then ill ask her how long shes worked here and how she likes it, and ask her if she goes to school. Then if anything accumulates keep it going, if not say it was nice meeting you, and ill see u around. That way i can stop by and say hello from time to time, and eventually work the nerve to ask her out.
