Introducing A Ferret?

Right, i'v attempted to do a bit of research on the subject but most of it is irrelevant. I used to have two female ferrets until one died yesterday. My existing ferret is sociable and friendly and needs a friend. Should i introduce one the same way as if she was a solitary ferret? I was thinking of getting a neutered male or another female from a local ferret rescue. What should i do? I want to introduce them as slowly as possible but its a little bit difficult due to lack of resources and funds... i understand that i will need to introduce them but surely it shouldnt make much difference if both ferrets are used to others.
