We have owned our Thoroughbred mare for 3 months, but she has been boarded until yesterday. She is used to being alone most of the time, but she now has 3 "siblings". Right now, she is in her own paddock with her own shed, where she can visit the others over the fence. She has already been in with my POA mare (they boarded together for about 2 weeks), but we also have a Appy gelding and a mini gelding. The usually grumpy Appy is totally in love. The mini is too, but Evaire, the TB has been having a hard time finding him down there, lol Pretty soon we would like to have them all together, but we are a little nervous about introducing the boys once Evaire settles into her new home. Evaire seems to be a little afraid of other horses. Unfortunately, she will squal, strike, and kick (we left her back shoes off for now). She's not an aggressive horse, just scared. I think they will be okay, but I'm just worried about striking in particular (she usually only kicks with food around). We are going to go one at a time, starting with the POA (since they know each other), then the Appy (who is usually the boss), then the mini (since he has very little social skills with horses...he's VERY friendly, but he is pretty clueless to what ears pinned means, etc. lol). We have a good sized paddock, most of the corners are rounded (we'll have someone stand in the corners that aren't round), and I think they'll be okay, but do you have any tips?
