Introducing guinea pigs.....?

I used to have 2 guinea pigs and about 3 months ago one passed away. I still have Bella but I think she is lonely so I have decided to adopt 2 more pigs from a friend. The 2 from my friend have been together their whole lives but are about the same age as my original one.

I am buying a new cage for all 3 but I was wondering how I should introduce them to each other? Also do you think buying a new cage will help break down a territory barrier?

I buy my C&C cages Don't worry I would never try to stuff 3 piggies into a store bought cage :/

When introducing any animals, place them in an area that isn't considered the present one's territory, such as a cage or common play area. That makes it seem like the new animals are intruders and your current guinea will defend said territory. Introduce them in a bathtub or bathroom or even a large plastic tub and watch. Look for signs of aggression. If all goes well, place them together in the cage. If not, consider borrowing another cage and slowly introducing them. Keep in mind that rodents, like any other animal, need to establish who is dominant. They may hump or get into scuffles frequently for a while. I hope all goes well! Enjoy your guineas!!
