Introducing new Gerbils?

I originally got a pair of gerbils (Now around 14 weeks old) from a school biology teacher. They have babies every 5 weeks, so I figured Id take a pair to at least help with overpopulation. (I eventually sexed all of the gerbils and put the males and females in separate tanks). Anyways, the mother had another litter (Now around 6 weeks old) I recently upgraded to a 20 gallon Long, and was wondering how difficult it would be to introduce another pair of young gerbils to my current pair. I currently have a 14 week old pair of females, and planned on getting more females. How difficult will it be to introduce them?

In all truth, a 20 gallon tank is not large enough for 4 gerbils. 20 Gallons is the right size for about 2 gerbils. they need lots of bedding, meaning filling the tank about 3/4 of the way, so they can burrow, which is one of their favorite things to do. As for introducing, the best way to introduce gerbils is doing a split tank, which pretty much u construct a divider, which I'll provide a link for, to a very good gerbil website I use all the time.

Another thing that disturbs me slightly is the breeding that happens a the school. A female gerbil shouldnt breed more than 3 times, and definately not back to back, it can cause severe health problems, and could shorten her life span. Which, a healthy gerbil can easily make it to 3 years old, and some even live longer.
