I can hardly believe it! Keeping in mind that last week, hubby cut his hand, requiring 3 stitches, so we ended up not booking any new appointments for him for this week. Since we work Tues.-Sat., it's being Friday when he hurt himself only "lost" us one day and two clients, as one of his Saturday clients decided to see me to keep her appointment. So we were anticipating a slower week. He's healing well, but I don't like the idea of him going too fast and possibly re-injuring it. I "allowed" him to keep the already-booked appointments for this week, just no new ones.
Today, I had to go to City Hall to discuss the fact that *nobody told us* that we were supposed to have gotten a sign permit when we set this all up (so we ended up with a code violation- oops!). Thankfully, they didn't charge us a fine, we just had to pay for the permit itself. But I did start out a bit grumpy because of all that rigmarole.
Hubby had one client booked for this afternoon, and I had nothing. I really don't have a client base yet, being so new. I set to work getting some paperwork figured out and all that jazz.
Well, 'long about noon, two ladies walked in, wanting chair massages. They're from the hair salon in the building. So he took one and I took the other. Both ladies left very happy, and they each left us a tip, too! They also took some flyers- they said they've been having customers asking about "that new place in the building", and they didn't have anything to say to them!
A couple of hours later, a fellow walked in, looking for a massage. He had been sent by the hair salon ladies! Hubby had a client coming soon, so I took him. He left after buying our Grand Opening Special 2-pack! (so we "owe" him one.)
Then, while hubby was in session with his client, two MORE ladies from the hair salon walked in for chair massages! Since he was in session, I asked the gal who is renting our extra room if she wanted to take one of the ladies. If our son had had his license already, he could have taken one of them. But oh well!
So we had a total of FIVE walk-ins today, plus hubby's regular client.
Not bad for exactly one week in business, and a busted hand to boot! (FTR, he is using gloves when he massages.)
