Ok Hi to everyone.
I have been offered my first job as a therapist. It is a spa they have a salon sell cloths(not alot), they have a Barber shop aswell. As far as the massage area it is the building next to the salon. Nice .It is set up very nice. the are two rooms and a couples room. All they want is 2 days a week for a minimal of 2hours a day. I can set up more hours if i want. I will be an indp.contractor So i will be responsible for getting clients. but i can also work on the clients that are already coming in.
If they are already clients it is a 50/50 split if i bring the clients in it is a 60/40 split. i would be responsible for my on taxes, there are no rental fees.. this seems like a great way to get my feet wet get my name out there. there are about 4 therapist i thinkthey all work diff times and days. It feels like a great start. did i get all the imprt. info needed do i have to get more? :

You will want to find out what they will supply you with - especially since there is a 50/50 split on the clients they will provide. Also you need to know how many clients are they likely to be sending in to you on a regular basis. If you're all booked up with their referrals - that effectively leaves you no time for your own clientel.

Though there is no rent, do you have to supply a table, the linens, & all the oils/lotions, etc. ? If so, that is an expense you'll be handling. If they supply it then all you are supplying is your body & expertise. Either way is fine - but you need to know all that up front - to make a decision as to how good a deal it really is for you.

I worked for a Chiro when I first started out who did next to nothing to promote me, though she did provide the space & allowed me to wash my linens there - I mostly did that off site (an expense) however. All the things I needed to use were supplied by me. She initially wanted to do a 50/50 split - but I worked it out that I was making something more like a 60/40 split (that was 18 years ago) in my favor. Then, if I was bringing in my own client, I would pay her something like $10.00 an hour to effectively rent the space for that time.
