Job vent

Well, as some may remember I was all excited/curious about this chain company (who will remain nameless in this post) that was hiring me. Supposed to start next weekend in my job, was to do my slide watching/training today and tomorrow.

Saturday evening got a call from the new manager that they would no longer need me since the MT that was leaving decided that now she would stay on until the middle of summer. My first reply? You have got to be kidding me. I went through all that trouble, time and expense to get my license (which BTW can only be used there) and you are just going to blow me off?

Okay, I understand the old MT getting to keep her old job until she is ready to leave but I was just so disappointed and upset. I guess I still am. Was so excited about starting my new job. Maybe if I haven't found anything new by mid summer they will keep me in mind. I vaguely recall her mentioning something along this line but was in shock or disbelief at the time.

Back to the drawing board and thanks for having a place for me to vent my frustration.

Sounds like you got the flip side of the Karma for the therapist who rescinded her job acceptance for us the day before she was supposed to start -- Valentine's weekend no less!

This outfit must be a little wobbly if having an extra therapist for a few months is not something they can swing.

Would rather be overstaffed than understaffed!

I've seen this happen to other posters here previously. Geez it's so slimy. Is there any way you can get compensation for your license?
