I am licensed in several states. I have mainly worked for myself in private practice, mostly treatment work.I am interested in knowing how other massage therapists get work in Chiropractor's offices and spas.Did you just walk in? Did you send resume? Both?How did you get you first job working as contractor or employee doing massage? Was it hard to get the job?Was it scary?I am trying to gain employment in Chiropractor's office or day spa. Please recomend topics I should study or do to make a good impression.Any insight will be helpful.

Update your resume, make several copies, and set out in a nice suit for a morning of dropping off resumes at all the places you'd like to work.  Ask if you can make an appointment to meet with the person in charge of hiring.Check with local massage schools to see if they have a job posting bulletin board.  I'm also seeing a lot of plain old classified ads in the newspaper for chiropractors hiring lately.Spas and chiropractors seem to have a reputation for working their employees hard and not paying well, so make sure to negotiate your terms when you do find something.  Not all are bad, but several of us here have had unpleasant experiences working for others who don't understand the complexity of our work.Good luck!Katykangaroo
